1.1 Adorned Couches Limited trading as Sofabase is registered in England and Wales (Company No. 16550728).
1.2 Our registered office is Grosvenor House, 11 St Paul’s Square, Birmingham, B3 1RB.
1.3 Our registered VAT number is GB497817034.
1.4 We operate online at sofabase.co.uk, offering curated sofas designed for homes.
2. Agreement to Terms
2.1 By using our website or placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions
2.2 We may update these Terms from time to time.
2.3 Significant changes will be communicated via our website or email where appropriate.
2.4 Continued use of our website constitutes acceptance of any updates.
3. Contact and Communication
3.1 You can contact us via the Contact Us page on our website.
3.2 By placing an order, you agree that we may contact you via email, telephone, SMS, or WhatsApp regarding your order, delivery, and customer service.
3.3 You may opt out of marketing communications at any time.
3.4 Service related communications will still be sent where necessary.
4. Formation of Contract
4.1 A binding contract is formed once we issue an order confirmation by email.
4.2 If we are unable to fulfil your order due to stock issues, pricing errors, or other unforeseen circumstances, we will notify you and issue a full refund.
4.3 Certain products are made to order such as our handcrafted sofas and manufactured to your specification, including fabric, colour, size, configuration, or orientation.
4.4 Once production has been confirmed, materials and resources are allocated.
4.5 If you choose to cancel a made to order/handcrafted product after this stage, a charge of up to 30% of the order value will apply, capped at £300. This reflects costs already incurred and is not a penalty.
4.6 Delivery charges are non refundable once dispatch has taken place.
4.7 This does not affect your statutory rights.
5. Order Amendments
5.1 Changes to your order must be requested at least 72 hours before dispatch.
5.2 Changes requested after this point may not be possible or may incur additional costs.
6. Product Information
6.1 All product descriptions, dimensions, and images are provided as accurately as possible.
6.2 A tolerance of up to 1 to 3 percent may apply to dimensions.
6.3 Colours may vary due to screen settings, lighting, and material variation.
6.4 Lifestyle imagery may be digitally enhanced or created using AI tools for illustrative purposes.
6.5 Products ordered at different times may vary slightly due to production batches.
7. Pricing and Payment
7.1 All prices are in GBP and include VAT.
7.2 Payment must be made in full at the time of ordering using our secure checkout.
7.3 We reserve the right to cancel orders in the event of pricing errors or suspected fraudulent activity.
7.4 Finance agreements are handled by third party providers and are subject to their own terms.
8. Delivery
Delivery Charges
8.1 England and Wales: £129
8.2 Scotland: £199
8.3 Delivery includes room of choice delivery and assembly unless stated otherwise.
8.4 Delivery charges are non refundable once items have been dispatched.
Delivery Process
8.5 Once your order is ready, our delivery partner will contact you to arrange a suitable delivery date.
8.6 Deliveries are typically carried out between 7am and 7pm. In some cases, delivery times may extend beyond this window due to traffic, route scheduling, or unforeseen delays.
Delivery Times
8.7 In stock items are typically delivered within 7 to 10 working days.
8.8 Made to order and handcrafted items usually take 4 to 8 weeks. Some may take up to 12 weeks.
8.9 Estimated lead times are displayed on product pages.
Delivery Inspection
8.10 We strongly recommend inspecting your sofa at the time of delivery and reporting any visible issues immediately.
8.11 Reporting issues after delivery may limit the options available where responsibility cannot be verified.
Access and Delivery Conditions
8.12 You are responsible for ensuring that your sofa can be delivered safely into your property.
8.13 Please check all access points including doorways, hallways, and staircases before ordering.
8.14 If delivery cannot be completed due to access restrictions, a £129 re delivery or return handling fee may apply.
8.15 Doorstep delivery can be requested, however we are not responsible for damage caused when moving the product inside the property.
8.16 Deliveries must be accessible via safe and standard entry routes. We do not offer window or crane access.
Missed or Failed Deliveries
8.17 A £129 fee applies where delivery is missed, refused without valid reason, or cancelled within 72 hours of dispatch.
Transfer of Risk
8.18 Responsibility for the product passes to you once delivery has been completed and accepted.
9. Returns and Refunds
Cooling Off Period
9.1 You have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
9.2 You must notify us in writing within this period via our Contact Us page.
9.3 Delivery charges are non refundable once your order has been marked as dispatched.
9.3a If you choose to cancel your order before it has been dispatched, you may do so up to 72 hours prior to dispatch for a full refund, including any delivery charges paid.
9.3b If cancellation is requested within 72 hours of dispatch, we may be unable to stop the order from leaving our delivery network. In such cases, the order will be treated as a return, and delivery charges will not be refunded where services have already been arranged or fulfilled.
Return Options
9.4 You may return items by arranging your own return transport or requesting a Sofabase collection service for £200.
Return Conditions
9.5 All returns must be approved in advance.
9.6 Items must be unused, in original condition, and returned in original packaging with all components.
9.7 Items must be packaged appropriately to prevent damage during transit.
9.8 You must take reasonable care of the goods while in your possession.
9.9 We may reduce refunds where items show signs of use or handling beyond what is necessary to inspect them.
Made to order Returns
9.10 Made to order such as our handcrafted products are manufactured specifically for you.
9.11 If a return is approved, a charge of up to 30% of the order value will apply, capped at £300. This reflects costs already incurred and is not a penalty.
Return Responsibility
9.12 Customers are responsible for ensuring items are packaged safely for return.
9.13 We are not liable for damage caused by inadequate packaging during return transit.
Refunds
9.14 Refunds are processed within 7 working days of inspection and issued to the original payment method.
Faulty Items
9.15 If a product is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
9.16 Where a fault is confirmed, we will cover collection and resolution costs.
10. Warranty
10.1 All sofas include a 1 year manufacturer warranty covering defects in workmanship and materials, including frames, springs, and mechanisms.
10.2 Selected products include a 5 year structural frame guarantee.
Exclusions
10.3 Warranty does not cover:

General wear and tear, including softening or flattening of cushions

Natural fading or discolouration due to sunlight or environmental exposure

Misuse, accidental damage, or improper care

Damage caused by pets

Exposure to damp, humidity, or unsuitable environments

Stains, marks, or cosmetic damage

Minor components such as handles, fittings, decorative elements, or fixings

Electrical components, lighting, glass, or mirrors where applicable

Adjustments required after installation, including alignment or settling
-
Damage caused during handling after delivery has been completed

Costs related to redecorating, flooring, or access adjustments

Consumables required for repairs such as screws, brackets, or fixings
-
Issues relating to installation or fitting reported more than 30 days after delivery
Claims Process
10.4 To make a claim, you must provide:

10.5 We will arrange an independent inspection where required.
10.6 Inspection costs will be reimbursed if a manufacturing defect is confirmed.
Resolution
10.7 We may repair, replace, or provide replacement parts depending on the issue.
10.8 Only one replacement is permitted per item.
10.9 Replacements do not extend the original warranty period.
Important
10.10 This warranty operates alongside your statutory rights, which are not affected.
11. Limitation of Liability
11.1 We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
11.2 Our total liability is limited to the purchase price of the product.
11.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any rights that cannot be excluded under UK law.
12. Force Majeure
12.1 We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our control, including natural disasters, strikes, transport disruption, or supplier delays.
13. Brand Misuse
13.1 Whilst Sofabase takes reasonable steps to protect customers from fraud, scams and impersonation, we are not liable for loss or damage caused by third parties who misuse the Sofabase name, brand, website, logo or email format. Customers should only rely on official Sofabase channels and emails ending in @sofabase.co.uk. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded.
14. Governing Law
14.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales
